Sts. Elizabeth and Zechariah

parents of St. John the Baptist · 1st century
With God nothing will be impossible.
— Luke 1:37

An elderly couple who prayed for a child all their lives. When they had given up hope, an angel announced to Zechariah the birth of a son. He did not believe and was struck dumb; he spoke again only when naming John. Elizabeth was the first to greet Mary as the Mother of the Lord. God surprises at the right time.
