October 15
On this day the Catholic Church remembers
St. Teresa of Ávila

St. Teresa of Ávila

virgin and Doctor of the Church · 1515 – 1582
Let nothing disturb you, let nothing frighten you; all things pass, God does not change. Whoever has God lacks nothing. God alone suffices.
— Bookmark in her breviary

For many years she lived half-heartedly, until at forty she was struck by the sight of the suffering Christ. Then she travelled across Spain founding convents despite illness and opposition. It is never too late for a new beginning.
