St. Kateri Tekakwitha

virgin, Lily of the Mohawks · 1656 – 1680
Who will teach me what is most pleasing to God, so that I may do it?
— According to Fr. Cholenec's biography

A Native American girl whose face was scarred and eyesight weakened by smallpox. Her own people persecuted her for being baptised, so she fled to a Christian settlement. She died at 24, and her face is said to have become beautiful after death. God sees the beauty the world overlooks.
