March 19
On this day the Catholic Church remembers
St. Joseph

St. Joseph

spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary · 1st century
When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him.
— Matt 1:24

A carpenter from Nazareth of whom the Gospels record not a single word – only deeds. He took Mary and Jesus into his home, fled with them to Egypt and worked for them. He is the patron of fathers, workers and the whole Church. Quiet faithfulness is great.
