Our Lady of Lourdes

optional memorial, World Day of the Sick · 1858

I am the Immaculate Conception.

— Words of Our Lady to Bernadette, 25 March 1858

In 1858 a beautiful Lady appeared to poor Bernadette in a grotto near Lourdes and called people to prayer and penance. From the spring that burst forth there, millions of sick people still draw hope. Mary comes to the littlest ones.
