February 10
On this day the Catholic Church remembers
St. Scholastica

St. Scholastica

virgin, sister of St. Benedict · c. 480 – 543
I asked my brother and he would not listen to me; I asked my Lord and he heard me.
— St. Gregory the Great, Dialogues

At her last meeting with her brother Benedict she begged him to stay and talk about God. When he refused, she prayed – and such a storm broke out that he could not leave. Three days later she died. Love can do more than rules.
