On this day the Catholic Church remembers
St. Raymond of Penyafort

St. Raymond of Penyafort

priest, Dominican · c. 1175 – 1275
Let the greatest among you become as the youngest, and the leader as one who serves.
— Luke 22:26

A famous lawyer, he compiled the Church's law code that remained in force for seven centuries. When elected Master of his order, he resigned after two years to devote himself to prayer and preaching. He died almost a hundred years old. Greatness lies in service, not in titles.
