St. Barbara
Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.
— Rev 2:10
According to legend her father locked her in a tower to protect her from the world. There she became a Christian and had a third window made in the tower in honour of the Trinity. Her father denounced her and beheaded her himself. She is the patroness of miners; on her day a cherry twig is cut so that it will blossom at Christmas.
