St. Clement I

pope and martyr · † c. 100
In love the Master took us to himself.
— Letter to the Corinthians 49

The third successor of St. Peter, who wrote a letter to the church of Corinth to settle its disputes – one of the oldest Christian texts outside the Bible. According to tradition he was thrown into the sea with an anchor around his neck. St. Cyril brought his relics to Rome. Love unites.
