The Holy Martyrs of Košice

Everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father.

Three priests – Mark Krizin, Melchior Grodziecki and Stephen Pongrácz – who were tortured by soldiers in Košice during a war. They were offered freedom if they denied their faith, but refused. They are the first martyr saints from Slovakia. Faithfulness to Christ has deep roots in Slovakia.
