St. Giles
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
— Matt 5:7
A hermit in Provence who, according to legend, was fed by a doe. During a royal hunt an arrow meant for the doe struck him instead. He became the patron of the disabled and the poor. He was widely venerated in Central Europe too – Bardejov has a Basilica of St. Giles.
