April 14
On this day the Catholic Church remembers
St. Lidwina

St. Lidwina

virgin, patroness of the sick · 1380 – 1433
My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.
— 2 Cor 12:9

A fifteen-year-old Dutch girl broke a rib while ice-skating and spent the rest of her life – 38 years – bedridden in pain. She offered her suffering for others, and people came to her for comfort. Even from a sickbed one can change the world.
