St. John Joseph of the Cross

St. John Joseph of the Cross

priest, Franciscan · 1654 – 1739
The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve.
— Mark 10:45

A native of the island of Ischia, he entered the Franciscans at sixteen and, though a superior, did the humblest work. He was known for the gift of healing and of reading hearts. Whoever serves reigns like Christ.
